• Sydney’s water storage system built more than half a century ago was only designed for 2 million people. We now have nearly 5.5million using it.
• Sydney’s ancient water supply system is no longer secure or affordable.
• Sydney’s current water catchment is approximately 2,500 Gigalitres. Building Welcome Reef dam would add another 2,700 Gigalitres capacity to Sydney’s catchment, drought proofing Sydney’s water storage to a whopping 5,200 Gigalitres.
• Sydneys water restrictions are a third world phenomenon caused by a lack of infrastructure spending by successive governments over 50 years.
